Travel Blog #40 - Kisolanza near Mbeya

Location

South Africa
Making our way towards the Zambian border we stopped at Kisolanza Camp between Iringa and Mbeya. Everyone we have spoken to raved about the place so we were looking forward to seeing it as we missed it on our way up.

Beautiful laid out camp sites amongst indigenous trees.
Lovely clean ablution facilities with HOT WATER.

For the first time we could feel were getting closer to home as this camp was more what we were used to in South Africa.

Travel Blog #39 - Morogorro

Location

South Africa
The next stop over in Tanzania on our way to Zambia was at Morogorro.

Once again Tracks-4-Africa on our GPS helped us to find a nice grassy camp site in one of the lodges. We had a beautiful view of the mountains in Morogorro.

Travel Blog #38 - Arusha

Location

South Africa
Making our way back to Zambia we unfortunately had to cover areas of Tanzania we had seen on the way up.

On the way to Arusha with Mt. Meru coming into view. This time we were approaching it from the North.

Mt. Meru from the Northern side.

Camp site in Arusha with big yellow overland trucks in the back ground. We took the time to have the Prado serviced in town.

Travel Blog #37 - Isiolo

Location

South Africa
We were getting quite used to Isiolo as we stopped there twice during our taxi expedition to Nairobi and back.

We found a nice little camp site just outside Isiolo. Lovely grass, hot water and we even had dinner delivered to our camp.

We took advantage of the grassy area to clean the tents and equipment after the mud & dust of Northern Kenya.

Travel Blog #36 - Marsabit

Location

South Africa
Once we had mapped out our return route we left Moyale and started our return trek to Nairobi.

We met some wonderful people at ‘Henry the Swiss’s Camp site. Here Reinhard from Germany is walking through a Grasshopper infestation we had early in the morning. Millions of them.

Long hours around the camp fire swapping ‘war stories’ with lots of beer. James & Polly were from the U.K. and making their way to Cape Town. Their adventure can be followed on www.sandbagstosanddunes.com
Martin & Reinhard were from Germany on their way to Cape Town to support Germany in the world cup.

Michel & Jenni from Germany & Toni. Actually Jenni is originally from Finland.

Reinhard strung up some South African flags to give the bar area a bit of a world cup flovour. The German's adventure can be followed on www.cccup.org

Side road in Marsabit.

Main road in Marsabit.

We had a nice lunch at the Al Subra Hotel.
